Description
GKH is a classic garden-bed green. It quickly emerges in spring with edible spinach-like leaves. They are best cooked.
It will quickly produce flowers, and not much later a full head of seeds! If you want GKH to spread throughout your garden, let the seeds go, and if you want to control its spread, cut the flower heads back, and start the cycle all over again!
You can get many successions from GKH throughout the season by cutting it back to the ground.
GKH has a very deep taproot, so would be great as a companion plant with a larger tree or shrub. Can be great along the edges around taller plants in the garden.
