River locust just wants to grow!
This plant is happy in a variety of soil types, dry or wet, and in sunny or shady conditions. Will grow very quickly if it’s happy! Can be pruned as a small tree, or a more shrubby bush. If you want to hit the reset button, you can always cut river locust to the ground and it will grow back vigorously the next year!
River locust has wonderfully complex purple-orange flowers. These are attractive to a number of pollinators. Grows quickly after year one if happy.
