Metal is durable and reusable, so you can continue to use these guards for years to protect many different plants. I also like these metal guards because they allow for almost full light and airflow to the plant.
These deer rings are made from metal fencing that is 5 feet tall, and has openings that are 2 inches by 4 inches. The large openings make these rings fairly transparent, you can really see your plants through them which is great if you plan to have the guards up for a long time. They are also not unsightly if you live in a neighborhood. This will stop deer browse and will stop adult rabbits from going through the fence (but not underneath!). These deer rings won’t stop voles.
The vole guards are 18 inches tall. The openings are small enough that they will protect against young rabbits and voles, which are the true killers of trees.
