Description
Elderberry has been rising in popularity in the last few years… and for good reason. Elder has been a powerhouse of healing for a long time and is considered highly medicinal. It is an immune-supportive plant, and this can be from either the flowers or the berries. Another well known use is for elderberry syrup.
The flower clusters are large white clusters of many small flowers. These lead to the deep purple elderberries.
Likes to spread by underground runners which can be a gift! Also likes wetter locations. Can (and should) be cut back every few years to stimulate fresh new growth.
Two varieties required for fruit set (not flowers).
